A RECENT REPORT FROM SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK

Dear friends and supporters,

The snowstorms did not slow down this month. With five of them and having to clear the roof, I got more exercise than I really wanted. However a person may find God’s hand and His blessing in everything. With all the extra exercise, my doctor said that I managed to lower my bad cholesterol from 5.9 to 5.1. Yay!

This month we had a series of sermons on the theme, “Unity and Peace” in which we looked at peace not only in the church but also within ourselves and most importantly peace with God. Also this month we continued studying the Gospel of John with wonderful discussions following. There is a lot we can learn from this book of the Bible. As one of my teachers at Great Lakes Bible College used to say, “Studying the Gospel of John is like peeling away layers of an onion and discovering more layers as you go.”

On the 27th, we were happy to have Noly join us for worship again. She has been with us many times and we really hope she will be open to hearing the gospel and will obey it. To our surprise, we also had two other visitors on this day for the first time, the Lawsons. Not only did they say they felt comfortable with us but they want to return. However the husband, Marshall, has serious health problems that keep him from coming out. As of this writing, we are in constant contact with him hoping that his health will hold up so that we can study the gospel with him and his wife Ruth. Please pray for his health and our efforts. May our Lord and God give us all opportunities to share the good news and to keep us busy until He comes! God bless!

The Lord’s servant for His church that meets in Saint John, New Brunswick,

Shawn Leblanc
